What happens when we meet our dark side? In search of my own shadow, I was wondering what dark tales Cologne had to offer. I followed the story of Gerhard, the first Baumeister of the Cologne Cathedral. His myth illuminates the continuous struggles with the demons within. This eventually drove him to desperation and so losing his soul. With my project, I went looking for this metaphorical edge, gazing into the abyss and hoping to get an answer (Nietzsche), but had an encounter with creatures instead.
